  • What is Yoga?

Yoga literally means “union” or “to yoke” our everyday selves with our highest most divine selves. Yoga is a powerful tool that teaches us how to live a life of balance, peace, harmony, strength and flexibility on all levels. A disciplined practice of yoga has the transformational benefits of deepening our connection to the body, mind and spirit, supporting us in living and loving long, vibrant, happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. It is a mind and body practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. It is an ancient practice that originated in India and involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well-being.

  • The “Goal” of Yoga:

The “goal” of yoga is to align to the universal consciousness in order to experience joy, freedom and the stillness of full consciousness. Alignment is related to mind and body and refers to how various parts of us are integrated and interconnected. The world is what think and believe it to be. It is subjective in essence - a projection of what we feel it is, based on past experiences and conditions. What we see in others is what we have inside, like a mirror that is only projecting what is inside. We have the potential, using conscious intentions, thoughts and words, to co-create the life we want, to go beyond our limitations and fears, to surrender and open, to choose the type of person we want to be, to flow with the divine grace, to see the beauty in and all around us.

  • Progress on this “Royal Path "

Transformation is a reflection of our willingness to connect, to let go, to aspire to realize ourselves.

Instead of measuring success in practising a yoga posture by how far we go, we can ask how present we are in each moment. How aware are we of the movement of our breath, the sensations in our body, and the thoughts that pass through us? Instead of judging the correctness of a yoga posture by how we look, we can inquire what positioning makes us feel most integrated.  Instead of, "How many hours did I spend meditating today, " we can ask, "How did I live my practice in every moment of the day?"

Me, Myself and Yoga

My journey with yoga started five years ago. Before that, I was a Fashion Designer by profession and worked as faculty with one of the leading design institutes. My job had become monotonous and hectic and I was not enjoying it anymore. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do next with my life - I had big plans to make that feel scary and overwhelming. I think these outside forces and pressures brought me back to yoga. Till then I had only tried a few yoga classes and I found that this is what I wanted to do. After leaving my job, I took yoga as a profession and a media to help everyone around.

How does yoga help me mentally, physically and emotionally!

The practice of yoga helped me to work through my daily mental and physical experiences. As yoga brings awareness to our inner bodily sensations, it reflects what’s happening in our minds. Stress in life is inevitable but too much stress can be harmful to our body and mind. Yoga works at relaxing the body. It kick-starts the relaxation pathway in our body which in turn, relaxes the mind and I started loving yoga.

Regular practice is the key. How I experience the world when I am off the mat is reflected in my yoga practice. So how we practise yoga can teach us to live more emotionally balanced lives. Do! Do! Go! Go! Go!” are followed everywhere you go; the lifestyle today makes us disconnected from our own body’s experience. A mind-body practice such as yoga forces you to slow down and take a look at yourself. To actually be with yourself. This has had a huge impact on how I relate to the outside world: I feel calmer, less reactive to stressors, have increased focus and energy. I'm sure that I am a much nicer person to be around and nicer towards others too.

In short, my practice teaches me how to be the best possible version of myself

And then I decided to impart knowledge of yoga and its endless benefits. I decided to educate people about a healthy lifestyle, give time to oneself and love oneself.

I Believe and follow

Yoga is for Everyone!

And this is the most alluring element in the path of yoga. There is no age bar, there is no condition, no equipment required whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. Don’t be intimidated by yoga terminology, fancy yoga studios and complicated poses. Yoga is for everyone.

Just be yourself, You and your mat, just be with your breath and everything becomes glorious and distinguished.

Yoga is not about being the most flexible and bendy person- though the more you practice, the more flexible and bendy you will become.  Just start from where you are now and see where it can take you.
